Category: Best Overwater Bungalows With Glass Floor in Fiji in 2023.
An extremely popular feature of overwater bungalows is the presence of glass floor panels but, rather surprisingly maybe, not all overwater bungalows have them. Those that have though allow their guests to stare down hypnotically at the comings and goings of the exotic, teeming sea life below.
They also present a singularly nice photo opportunity - your partner swimming through the bright turquoise waters under your 'house' captured directly from above.
Here are our choices then for the best luxury water villas with glass floor in Fiji in 2023.
Resorts with Overwater Bungalows in Fiji? There Are Only Three!
The South Pacific certainly isn't short on tropical island paradises but, even judged by those highest of standards, Fiji is really quite special.
Only three resorts in Fiji have overwater bungalows though, and they are: Marriott Momi Bay, Likuliku Lagoon and Koro Sun.
Where can I find them?
The first, Marriott Momi Bay is on the main island of Viti Levu, very near Nadi and its international airport, as well as the famous WW2 era Momi Gun Site.
Likuliku is on a little island just off the coast of Nadi, from where the resort can arrange speedboat transfers.
Koro Sun then is the most remote - on Fiji's less developed second island of Vanua Levu. It requires a short domestic flight to Savusavu but once there the resort's shuttle service can get you to the resort in just 15 minutes.
Are they luxury resorts?
The first two are luxury resorts, particularly the Marriott Momi Bay, while the latter, Koro Sun, is more mid range and therefore cheaper.
Both Likuliku and Koro Sun have their own nature reserves and offer more of a rustic, back to nature experience while The Marriott is about pure, Epicurean indulgence.
Are they for adults only?
All three resorts have their overwater bungalows section adults only though Koro Sun also offers some larger, family friendly overwater villas.
So, what are the prices like?
Their scarcity value plus their enormous popularity make overwater bungalow prices in Fiji not cheap. Koru Sun has the cheapest, starting at $550 USD per night.
The other two resorts, Likuliku and Marriott Momi Bay, are far more high end. Expect to pay at least $1,000 USD per night.

Address: Koro Sun Resort, Hibiscus Highway Savusavu Vanua Levu Fiji
Why We Like It: The eco-friendly Koro Sun Resort sits on a lagoon surrounded by a lush 160-acre nature sanctuary on the island of Vanua Levu, just to the northeast of Fiji’s main island. It’s a place with a strong back-to-nature appeal. If you’re feeling adventurous you can head out on some awe-inspiring jungle hikes or deep sea diving trips or, if you’re feeling lazy, just lay back and enjoy as much fine food, pampering, and relaxation as you like. Overwater Bungalows & Other Accommodation: The resort has a broad range of accommodation including overwater bungalows which actually float on the water, and larger, two-story, two-bedroom overwater villas in a semi-separate, private section of the resort. The overwater bungalows are romantic and cozy with interior design that doesn’t stray much from the traditional Fijian. They are 377 square feet/35 square meters and have a small outside terrace with direct access to the water. The overwater villas are far larger and more modern in style and have a large upstairs terrace and a small deck downstairs with access to the water. They also have a small round glass panel in the READ THE REVIEW
Address: Likuliku Lagoon Malolo Island Western Fiji Fiji
Why We Like It: The 5 Star, adults only Likuliku Lagoon is an eco-friendly island paradise off the coast of Western Fiji, and the first resort in the country to incorporate overwater bungalows. Conservation is a big part of the Likuliku story with the world’s last wild population (they were assumed to be extinct until 2010) of Fijian Crested Iguanas to be found in the resort’s on-land sanctuary. Educational, expert-guided forest walks can be arranged. Overwater Bungalows & Other Accommodation: The aforementioned overwater bungalows, or bures as they are referred to in Fiji, sit at the edge of the fringing reef. They have luxury interiors but the design is semi-traditional and the materials are natural and local which gives them a nice earthy, authentic feel. All are equally sized – with 646 sq. feet/60 square meters of internal space and 334/31 of external. Inside you have one bedroom with king size bed and a lounging area that opens out to the furnished terrace and open ocean beyond. You have direct access to the water below via a small wooden deck and stairs and inside there are glass panels on the READ THE REVIEW
