Sandals, fresh from their success with overwater bungalows in Jamaica, quickly turned their sights to St Lucia, and here at the all-inclusive, adults only, Sandals Grande St. Lucian resort you can expect the same high levels of luxury, sophistication and service.
It is very much an opulent romantic getaway, being adults only and attracting a well heeled clientele, but the atmosphere is friendly, relaxed and rarely stuffy.
Their overwater bungalows are a honeymoon favorite and with only nine of them they are booked out well in advance. They come with glass floor panels, tranquility soaking tubs, private patios and over-water hammocks, amongst other special features.
They also have a 24 hour personal butler service and the service throughout the resort is top notch – efficient and professional but also relaxed and personable.
They have an enormous range of accommodation at the resort, with the above mentioned overwater bungalows being the most popular.
These have a spacious, luxurious feel with hardwood floors, vaulted ceilings, king-size beds with soft linens and plush pillows, smart TVs, sun decks, outdoor showers, swish bathrooms and 24 hour personal butler service.
Many of the other choices well match, if not surpass, the style and sophistication of the overwaters though just without the novelty of having ocean being directly under your feet. The beachside suites in particular are extremely opulent, and very much worth considering if the overwaters are not free.

FACILITIES & THINGS TO DO:
Sandals Grande St. Lucian is a huge resort with 311 accommodation units, twelve restaurants and six bars including a British Pub and a swim-up pool bar. All of this is all-inclusive of course and the quality and variety of the food is impressive, as is the ever cheerful sand helpful service.
There is also a mile of gorgeous sandy beach at your disposal, a huge swimming pool and excellent spa facilities. You can also enjoy many complimentary water-sports such as scuba diving and paddle boarding as well as on-dry-land activities such as tennis, volleyball, yoga and mini golf.
If that wasn’t enough guests have also, not that they would really even need it, free access to the facilities of the two other Sandals properties on St Lucia – Sandals Regency La Toc and Sandals Halcyon, the former having a golf course.
ALL INCLUSIVE DETAILS:
The all inclusive package allows many complimentary activities along with food and drink – to see what and what isn’t included take a look on the booking page here.
Overlooking the balmy, peaceful waters of Rodney Bay, Sandals St. Lucian is on a thin strip of land, part of the Pigeon Island Peninsula in North West St Lucia.
The resort feels nicely secluded, but is still within easy reach of the towns of Rodney Bay, Gros Islet and Castries. A whole host of excursions and day trips can be arranged from the resort – a climb up the Pitons, a dip in sulfur baths or under the Toraille Waterfall, or a visit to the iconic Soufriere Volcano.
Complimentary transport is provided for all guests from Hewanorra International Airport with the journey generally taking just over an hour.
“Sandals Grande St Lucian is perfectly located at the top of the Island. It is about 90 mins from the airport, but a pleasant trip and the location away from the hills means it gets much less rain than just a few miles south. The service is wonderful, although not so great in the Italian restaurant. The food is excellent and not-over-the-top portion sizes and of course it’s All Inclusive. The beach is perfect, clean and calm, great for relaxing or taking part in the many included water sports. Although it was the beginning of peak season, it never felt crowded and there are plenty of sun beds, hammocks and shady spots. There are four pools, we found the best one to be a small, quiet pool at the south east end – never busy and a view of the ocean from the jacuzzi. We will come back….”
“The resort is very picturesque, beautiful setting and beach. Many choices for food and activities. But truly what makes the resort top notch – is the staff. Each staff member was polite, and eager to help us be more comfortable. We upgraded to the Butler suite, and were not disappointed. The room was romantic and private and the butlers were phenomenal. Bailey and Sue-Ann attended to our every need and were intuitive to what we didn’t say. It was difficult for me to ask for anything – it’s just my personality – but they made us comfortable right away. We highly recommend the butler service – and if you do- ask for Sue-Ann and Bailey. They helped create a wonderful experience for us and new friendships….”
