There are no overwater bungalows in The Bahamas itself sadly, as they are specialist buildings which need certain conditions to be structural viable –  conditions that are not so easy to find in The Bahamas.

But, by traveling just a little farther south, you will find the Caribbean has plenty of tremendous overwater bungalow resorts – some of the world’s very best in fact.

Overwater Bungalows in St. Vincent – One Exceptional Resort

St. Vincent, and the Caribbean in general, can’t, of course, offer the same choice of overwater bungalows as the Maldives or Bora Bora, but this little island nation does have one lovely overwater resort, and that’s Sandals Saint Vincent.

Tucked away in Buccament Bay on the south west coast, it has a wonderfully secluded setting, between lush green island hills and the Caribbean Sea.

It also offers the familiar Sandals combination of 5-star luxury and all-inclusive convenience, but in a considerably less developed, nicely off the radar, destination.
