Over Water Bungalows in Antigua - An Overview
Antigua has just one resort with overwater bungalows and that is The Royalton, a luxury, all inclusive adults only resort, acquired by the Marriott hotel chain in 2021.
Their overwater bungalows are spacious at 1442 square feet and are filled with luxury features. Their terrace areas being particularly nice with infinity plunge pools, overwater hammocks and direct access to the dreamy waters beneath.
The location is ultra convenient too, being less than a half an hour from St. Johns and the international airport.

Overwater bungalows can be found in seven different countries around the Caribbean: Antigua, Aruba, Belize, Jamaica, Mexico, Panama & St. Lucia.
All of them are within easy reach of the US, with direct flights from most major cities.
There are only a handful in each of these countries though you must be warned. This is because, compared to the atolls of the Maldives or Bora Bora, the conditions required for overwater bungalows – shallow, sheltered, consistently calm waters – are much more challenging to come by in the Caribbean.
But…though few in number, you have still quite a few great options – and we at Dreamoverwater have reviewed them all for you.
These are all top-class resorts, many indeed are 5 Star, and you can expect very high standards of accommodation, facilities and service.
Many are all-inclusive, and most – in the overwater bungalow section at least – will be adults-only.
Most will have prices to match their undoubted scarcity value too unfortunately, but there are some cheaper overwater bungalows in the Caribbean too, especially in Panama – check them out below.
